The light beam is directed at the treatment areas for localized effect. Melanin, which is present in hair, is the main target for the laser. It absorbs the light energy and converts it into heat. This thermal energy destroys the hair follicle and the associated cells and nourishing vessels. The surrounding skin remains unaffected.

To fully remove the hair, several procedures are required. Some follicles are in a dormant state and will not be affected during the first treatment. The effectiveness of the epilation also depends on the color of the skin and hair as well as their thickness. Complete hair removal usually takes 2 to 3 months, but the first results are visible after the first procedure, with up to 30% of hair falling out.
