Botulinum Therapy: Botox Injections

Correction and prevention of age-related facial changes is a priority task in cosmetology. Expression wrinkles often form at a young age due to the hyperactivity of facial muscles. This issue is successfully addressed with botulinum toxin type A injections (botulinum therapy).
How Does Botulinum Therapy Work?
Botulinum toxin blocks the motor impulse from nerves to muscles. However, the facial muscles are not completely blocked, allowing for facial mobility and emotions to remain intact. The wrinkles smooth out due to the relaxation of the facial muscles.
Duration of the Effect
The effect of the procedure lasts 3–4 months on average, but can extend to 6 months or longer.
The muscle tone gradually recovers as new nerve endings form and connect with the muscle.
